    50 Words or Less

The TRUE Linkswear All Day Knit Four is the latest iteration of the trailblazing footwear company’s stalwart shoe.  Incredibly comfortable, genuinely wearable on an off course.

    Introduction

In 2018, TRUE Linkswear pioneered the concept of a golf shoe that could be worn off the course without drawing confused looks.  Now, virtually every company in the golf shoe game makes a product geared to do the same.  In the years since, TRUE has continued to hone its product, focusing on the walking golfer and producing versatile styles that appeal to a wide variety of people and situations.  The TRUE Linkswear All Day Knit Four is, perhaps, the epitome of this mission.

    Looks

TRUE’s Knit line has traditionally blended an athletic shoe silhouette with a casual sneaker look and the newest version is no exception.  It does a really nice job of accomplishing that, and the result is a shoe that wouldn’t look out of place in most settings.  The upper is primarily a breathable knit mesh material accented with touches of more robust synthetic material around the toe, heel, and in the mid-foot.

The TRUE Linkswear All Day Knit Four is available in five colorways: Grey Day (shown), Black, Charcoal, Varsity Navy, and Vintage White.  It’s fitting that the colors offered are all very versatile, in the spirit of the shoe’s intended multi-functionality.

    Comfort

The TRUE Linkswear All Day Knit Four are incredibly comfortable.  In the sole, they’re virtually pillow soft.  In the mid-foot, the breathable material and flexible structure allows your foot to move freely and to get plenty of airflow on hot days.  Overall, they are a pleasure to wear on and off the course.

I think it’s worth pointing out here that these shoes were just a touch larger than I was expecting.  It’s nothing that would cause me to go up a size, but based on past experiences with the company as well as other shoe companies, the fit felt a bit roomier.  I noticed that reviewers on the company’s website also seemed to think the shoe skewed a touch larger than true to size.

    Performance

The first area where the TRUE Linkswear All Day Knit Four excels is in comfort.  It truly makes walking enjoyable.  I mentioned above how soft the footbed is but it isn’t just cushy for its own sake.  The softness doesn’t negate the feeling of being connected to the ground.  In fact, when I wear these shoes I feel like I have a better sense of what the turf is like than I do with other styles of golf shoes.

TRUE originally differentiated itself in the market with ‘zero drop’ shoes, meaning the heel and the toe are at the same height, versus a traditional shoe where the toe is noticeably closer to the ground than the heel, which is slightly raised up.  These have a 6mm drop, which will still likely feel ‘flat’ to someone used to wearing a golf shoe with a traditional heel drop.

Golfers looking for a shoe to get them feeling locked into the turf and utilizing every ounce of ground force possible will want to look elsewhere [check out the spiked TRUE Linkswear Lux Maven HERE].  These are spikeless and while they do an adequate job of maintaining connection with the turf, they can only do so much in that regard.  Similarly, the knit upper material results in a lack of structure to support the foot in aggressive lateral movements.

The TRUE Linkswear All Day Knit Four is super breathable so you won’t want to reach for them if there is any moisture on the ground.  Ultimately, it’s an ideal golf shoe for a casual round of golf.  For me, it’s something like a twilight nine, a par 3 course, or a vacation round.  They are also perfect for running to the store or slipping on after a round.

    Conclusion

The TRUE Linkswear All Day Knit Four is an excellent spikeless on/off course shoe.  For players who prioritize comfort and versatility of both looks and functionality, there arguably isn’t a better shoe out there today.
