PRO SHOP ACQUIRES GOLFWRX, THE INTERNET’S TRUSTED HOME FOR GOLF NEWS, GEAR REVIEWS AND COMMUNITY FORUMS

Deal Expands Pro Shop’s Growing Portfolio of Brands Designed to Serve the Broader Golf Community Through Content, Commerce and Culture

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA | DETROIT, MICHIGAN – Pro Shop, the innovative golf media and commerce company, today announced the acquisition of GolfWRX, the most trusted destination for golf gearheads and passionate players since 2005. The move expands Pro Shop’s rapidly growing ecosystem, bringing deeper utility and expertise to a portfolio that already spans across original content, apparel, community, and live experiences.

Founded in 2005, GolfWRX has built one of the most active and respected golf communities on the internet. Known for its trusted equipment coverage, peer-driven forums, and detailed product reviews, the platform has served as a go-to resource for serious golf fans for nearly two decades. By joining Pro Shop, GolfWRX will gain additional support and resources to grow while maintaining the editorial voice and gear-obsessed DNA that have made it a staple for the game’s most passionate players.

GolfWRX will continue to operate with editorial independence and a community-first approach, while gaining access to Pro Shop’s world-class creative and production capabilities, as well as expanded PGA TOUR access. The acquisition opens new doors for modernization and audience growth, connecting GolfWRX’s expert-driven community with broader fans through Pro Shop’s digital, entertainment, and experiential platforms.

“GolfWRX has long been a place where golfers go deep, whether getting the latest news and insights from industry experts or debating gear setups with people who truly know the game,” said Chad Mumm, Co-Founder and President of Pro Shop. “It’s an incredibly valuable part of the golf world, and we’re excited to invest in it, help it grow, and bring its valuable expertise and community reach to even more golf diehards and newcomers alike.”

“Pro Shop shares our vision: elevate the golf conversation, bring real insights to real players,  and never lose sight of the passion that built this community,” said Richard Audi II, Founder of  GolfWRX. “With this partnership, GolfWRX will grow smarter, faster, and deeper, all while  staying true to what’s always made us different.”

The acquisition marks another strategic step in Pro Shop’s mission to build a modern golf company designed to super-serve the full spectrum of golf fans. Since launching just over a year ago, Pro Shop has served as lead producer for the hit Netflix docuseries Full Swing, launched the Creator Classic Series presented by YouTubealongside the PGA TOUR, an ongoing live competition series featuring golf’s most beloved content creators, served as co-producer on the upcoming Happy Gilmore 2 film, and acquired Sugarloaf Social Club, a lifestyle apparel brand rooted in golf’s independent culture. The company also operates Skratch, a reimagined digital content hub delivering short-form storytelling, longform IP, and social-first coverage, including hit podcasts like Dan on Golf with Dan Rapaport and the Vanity Index Podcast with Chad Mumm and Wells Adams.

“GolfWRX has been a trusted resource for the most passionate corner of the golf world,” said Joe Purzycki, Co-Founder and CEO of Pro Shop. “Bringing them into the fold helps us better serve the full spectrum of golfers, from the casual weekend foursome to the diehards refreshing launch monitor stats. It’s a perfect fit for what we’re building.”

With GolfWRX, Pro Shop adds a new layer of depth and utility to its brand portfolio, creating a more centralized hub where golf gear, culture, lifestyle, and community converge.
