TGL has been described as a “first-of-its-kind experience” as fans will be able to spectate in an up-close-and-personal fashion at a virtual course with a short-game complex.
The new league was founded in August 2022, in the same month that Woods, McIlroy and former NBC golf executive Mike McCarley formed TMRW Sports, a company that is focused on producing technology-based ventures in the world of sports and entertainment.

TGL Golf Schedule and results
January 7 – (Sky Sports Golf at 2 am in early morning of January 8)
New York Golf Club 2-9 The Bay Golf Club
The inaugural match TGL match finished with a dominant victory for Shane Lowry, Ludvig Aberg and Wyndham Clark of The Bay who romped Matt Fitzpatrick, Xander Schauffele and Rickie Fowler.
Dressed in pale green, The Bay took the Triples session 6-1 and the singles session 3-1, with highlights coming from Aberg who holed a 32-footer across the moving green and Clark who threw the hammer down before holing a seven-footer to score double points.
January 14 (Sky Sports Golf at 2 am in early morning of January 15 in the UK)
Los Angeles Golf Club 12-1 Jupiter Links Golf Club
“You ready for this” Tiger Woods shouted as he entered the TGL Arena for the first time as a Jupiter Links player. Unfortunately, Los Angeles answered and hammered Woods, Kisner and Homa 12-1.
With team investor and tennis legend Serena Williams looking on, Justin Rose, Sahith Theegala and Collin Morikawa of LAGC won the Triples 8-1 and the Singles 4-0. Not a good start for Woods, who had his son Charlie and his mother Kultida looking on.
“That was awesome. Seriously man, that was the best,” Wood said after throwing down a hammer for his opening tee shot.
January 21 (Sky Sports Golf at 2 am in early morning of January 22 in the UK)
New York Golf Club 0-4 Atlanta Drive GC
New York, without Xander Schauffele this time, was dealt another thrashing, with Cameron Young stepping in. Justin Thomas starred for Atlanta Drive, and he, Billy Horschel, and Patrick Cantlay won their first TGL match.
Thomas made important putts for Atlanta, including a 24-footer on hole 4 to get a tie despite suffering a one-stroke penalty.
“We’ve not holed a putt yet,” said New York’s Matt Fitzpatrick who has now lost twice in two TGL matches. Horschel was particularly fired up for the occasion, wearing a Michael Penix Jr. Atlanta Falcons jersey, a Dirty Bird chain and some dance moves.
January 27 (Sky Sports Golf at 11.30 pm in the UK)
Jupiter Links Golf Club vs Boston Common Golf
Week four was one for the TGL fans’ diaries as Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s teams faced off on what was the Northern Irishman’s debut. It became the closest game of the TGL schedule so far as Jupiter edged Boston Common 4-3 in overtime.
Neither team led by more than a point in the match, with a 1-1 tie in the Triples and 3-3 at the end of regulation play. So that, the showdown then went to a best-of-three nearest-to-the-pin from a little under 40 yards, with Tom Kim beating US Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley and Kevin Kisner beating Adam Scott to win it for Jupiter.
Interestingly when Woods faced McIlroy in the singles, the 15-time major champion incurred the first TGL shot clock violation, taking too long over a putt. In a sport where slowplay goes frustratingly and inadequately punished, TGL had punished its own co-founder and one of the best players ever in just its fourth week.
“Well, normally I slow my heart rate down before I pull the trigger, so dropping my heart rate down sometimes takes a little bit longer than others. As I told these guys, it’s on me. I should have called time out as I built in my stance because of the time. But I was dropping my heart rate down like I normally would. It just took too long.”
February 4 (Sky Sports Golf at 2 am in early morning of February 5 in the UK)
Boston Common Golf 2-6 Los Angeles Golf Club
Despite arriving at the Sofi Cnetre off the back of winning the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Rory McIlroy suffered his second defeat in as many matches to the hands of Los Angeles Golf Club made up of Tommy Fleetwood, Justin Rose and Collin Morikawa.
The LAGC trio took a 5-0 lead into the singles against McIlroy, Adam Scott and the moustached US Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley. Bradley earned two points back for Boston Common against Rose, but the final result was 6-2.
February 17 (Sky Sports Golf at 6 pm, then 9 pm in the UK)
Presidents Day Tripleheader: Atlanta Drive GC 6-5 Los Angeles Golf Club, Atlanta Drive GC 5-6 The Bay Golf Club, The Bay Golf Club 5-4 Boston Common Golf.
The Presidents Day Tripleheader started in incredible fashion when Tommy Fleetwood made a hole-in-one in practice before LAGC’s match with Atlanta Drive. Atlanta trailed 5-2 in the triple session, but with the scores at 5-4, Justin Thomas chipped in to beat Sahith Theegala and take the match to overtime.
Atlanta edged LAGC in the nearest-the-pin overtime match when Patrick Cantlay stuck one tight with the third shot. Atlanta was up again as they took on The Bay.
Ludvig Aberg, Min Woo Lee and Wyndham Clark beat Cantlay, Justin Thomas and Lucas Glover of Atlanta 6-5. The match was tied 5-5 through 12 holes when The Bay threw the hammer down, thinking it would be declined. If a team declines, it costs them a point, so Atlanta declined and went 6-5 down and this lead was kept.
The Bay kept its 100% winning record at TGL in the third and final match of the night as Rory McIlroy’s Boston Common were beaten again. The match was tied on the 15th and final hole when Clark made a 10-foot eagle putt to give his side a 5-4 win.
Boston had led 2-0 after Hideki Matsuyama holed a nine-foot birdie putt while using a hammer, which gave him double points. One highlight of the match was Keegan Bradley chipping in for eagle for Boston, but it didn’t prove to be enough.
February 18 (Sky Sports Golf at midnight in the UK)
Jupiter Links Golf Club 3-10 New York Golf Club
In Tiger’s first appearance at TGL since his mother’s death, he, Tom Kim and Kevin Kisner lost 10-3 to Matt Fitzpatrick, Rickie Fowler and Cameron Young of New York Golf Club.
New York took an early 8-0 lead in the triples before Tom Kim scored double points with the hammer on the last hole of the first session. NYGC saw out the comfortable victory, which took the team up to fourth in the table.
February 24 (Sky Sports Golf at 10 pm)
Los Angeles Golf Club 5-4 New York Golf Club, Boston Common Golf 3-6 Atlanta Drive GC (Feb 24)
There was a double-header of TGL matches on February 24. New York took a 3-0 lead against LAGC through the triples and Cameron Young took a point against Tony Finau to make it 4-0.
But LAGC came back. Finau laid a hammer down on Young to take two points on hole 13 and Collin Morikawa took a point against Matt Fitzpatrick to make it 4-4. LAGC completed a dramatic comeback in overtime when Finau and Morikawa beat Fitzpatrick and Rickie Fowler in closest to the pin.
More misery was piled on Rory McIlroy in match two of the night. Boston Common won the triple session 2-1 against Atlanta Drive, but Atlanta came back when Billy Horschel and Patrick Cantlay both scored double points with the hammer in the singles.
Atlanta won 6-3, and Mcilroy and Boston Common remained winless in TGL.
February 25 (Sky Sports Golf at 2 am in the morning of February 26)
The Bay 6-3 Jupiter Links
The Bay took a commanding lead in the triples against the Woods-less Jupiter Links, taking the session 5-1 which included winning three points on the final hole with the hammer.
Tom Kim took a point against Min Woo Lee in Jupiter’s favour at the start of the singles, but then three consecutive holes were halved. Jupiter edged the session 2-21, but Lee, Shane Lowry and Wyndham Clark ran out as 6-3 winners to stay unbeaten at the top of the league.
March 3-4 (Sky Sports Golf at 8 pm, then midnight on March 4 in the UK)
The Bay Golf Club 5-3 Los Angeles Golf Club (March 3), New York Golf Club 10-6 Boston Common Golf (March 4)
The top two teams in the TGL standings met in the penultimate night before the playoffs. The Bay, made up of Min Woo Lee, Shane Lowry, and Wyndham Clark, took a 3-1 lead in the triples.
But Tommy Fleetwood of LAGC laid the hammer down on Lee and won two points before Sahith Theegala won crucial holes against Clark twice to seal the 5-3 win and earn LAGC top seed in the four-team playoffs.
In match two of the night, New York Golf Club inflicted yet another defeat on Boston Common and Rory McIlroy. Boston went 2-1 up after four holes in the triples, but NYGC earned two points on hole five with the hammer, and more points on holes 6 and 8.
It was the singles where NYGC, made up of Cameron Young, Xander Schauffele and Rickie Fowler, came alive. Schauffele earned double points on two holes with the hammer to take NYGC to a 10-6 win and the fourth seed in the playoffs. Boston Common and Jupiter Links were the two teams not to make the post-season stage.
March 5 (Sky Sports Golf at midnight)
Jupiter Links Golf Club 1-9 Atlanta Drive GC (March 5)
Atlanta Drive took the lead in the TGL regular-season finale in the triples, winning three holes to the one of Jupiter, made up of Tiger Woods, Max Homa and Tom Kim. But Wood’s trio then didn’t win another point.
Billy Horschel won two points with the hammer on hole 13 against Tom Kim, then Lucas Glover won three points against Woods with another hammer on hole 14 to take Atlanta to a 9-1 win and to third in the SoFi Cup Standings.
March 17-18
Semi-finals featuring the top four teams in the SoFi Cup standings.
March 24-25
The Finals Series will feature the top two teams in a best-of-three match across two nights.
TGL Highlights
Big Shane gets us underway
In week one when The Bay faced New York Golf Club, Shane Lowry hit the first-ever tee shot of the TGL era and he smacked it down the middle of the fairway.

Kisner clatters the flagstick, sending Tiger into stitches of laughter
Week two saw Tiger Woods’ Jupiter Links trio humbled by Los Angeles Country Club, and part of the reason for their damaging 12-1 defeat was Kevin Kisner’s display.
The highlight of the match was Kisner being faced with a bunker shot and he thinned his ball out and against the flagstick before it scurried off the green. The players ducked and laughed and Woods had tears from his eyes.

Billy Horschel’s dad dancing
Billy Horschel couldn’t contain his excitement for his TG Ldebut in week three for Atlanta Drive. During his walk-on and later in the match, he dropped a few questionable dance moves. Luckily, his team backed it up with a 4-0 winning performance over New York.

Tiger was too slow!
On the 10th hole in the singles in week four, Tiger Woods took too long over a putt playing against Rory McIlroy and was hit with the fist-ever shot clock violation in TGL.

Hole-in-one!
It was unofficial, but Tommy Fleetwood made an ace in a practice session ahead of the Presidents Day Tripleheader!
Add this to the hole-in-one debate 😂

Tiger takes the wrong club!
On the Temple Hole, Woods had 199 left to the green, but he thought he only had 99 yards left. He hit a wedge and was baffled by his ball only going half the distance.
His teammates Tom Kim and Kevin Kisner saw the funny side, as they didn’t realise Woods had a wedge in his hands before he brought the club back.
“One of the most embarrassing moments of my golf career just happened,” he said smiling.
“You said 99 yards!” 😅

Kisner shank!
Kevin Kisner provided another highlight reel moment for the wrong reasons on February 25. With his tee shot on the par 3 Cliffhanger hole, the American hit a hosel-rocket straight right much to everyone’s amusement.

What does TGL Golf stand for?
TGL stands for Tomorrow’s Golf League. The name comes from TMRW Sports – the company behind the new initiative founded by Woods, McIlroy and McCarley.
How to watch TGL Golf?
The TGL season was meant to kick off on January 9, 2024, in the primetime televised slot.
But on November 20, it was announced that TGL Golf would be delayed until 2025 due to structural damage to the dome in Florida.
A new start-up date of January 7, 2025 was revealed at the end of March 2024.
When the league does start after its year-long delay, every shot will be shown and each match will last two hours.
It was announced on October 5 2023 that TGL and ESPN signed a multi-year partnership to make ESPN the home of the matches in the States. Shortly after Christmas 2024, Sky Sports was revealed as the UK broadcaster of TGL.
Who is playing in TGL Golf?
Woods and McIlroy were the first two names on the start sheet as the co-founders of the concept.
Former US Open winner Jon Rahm and two-time major champion Justin Thomas, a close friend of Woods, were the first two players to sign on the dotted line. They were followed by two more major trophy-holders Collin Morikawa and Adam Scott.
It has now been confirmed that Jon Rahm will NOT play in TGL nor will Tyrrell Hatton. Ludvig Aberg has now been added to the roster.
Reigning US Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick was announced in January, with Max Homa and Billy Horschel added to the roster soon after.
During the week of the Genesis Invitational, Olympic gold medalists Justin Rose and Xander Schauffele became the newest recruits.
Six-time PGA Tour winner Rickie Fowler is also on the TGL roster. Tommy Fleetwood and Shane Lowry were confirmed as part of TGL, as well as the young PGA Tour star Tom Kim.
Six-time PGA Tour winner Keegan Bradley has joined the line-up, as well as Cameron Young. This pair missed out on the 2023 US Ryder Cup team selection.
Recent Fortinet Championship winner Sahith Theegala has also been called up to the TGL club.
On October 17, TGL announced that five new stars would be joining the golf league.
Fresh from his third career victory in Macau, Min Woo Loo was announced alongside PGA Tour players Kevin Kisner and Lucas Glover.
After the ‘hatgate’ storm at the Ryder Cup, Patrick Cantlay was announced by the league with fellow Team USA teammate, and US Open champion, Wyndham Clark also signing up.
In June 2024, Japanese star and former Masters champion Hideki Matsuyama was added to the TGL roster.
In February 2025, Tony Finau signed a one-match deal to play on February 24 for LAGC, filling in for Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Rose who have other commitments.
On February 28, it was revealed Nick Dunlap signed a one-match deal to play for Atlanta Drive against Jupiter Links on March 4 with Billy Horschel and Lucas Glover.
What teams are there in TGL Golf?
Before each match, the two competing teams will name three participants and every player will wear a microphone.
All names, brands and staff will be unveiled in due course, as well as the final of the six teams.
Atlanta Drive GC (Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay, Billy Horschel, Lucas Glover)
Boston Common Golf (Rory McIlroy, Keegan Bradley, Adam Scott, Hideki Matsuyama)
Los Angeles Golf Club (Collin Morikawa, Sahith Theegala, Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood)
New York Golf Club (Xander Schauffele, Rickie Fowler, Cameron Young, Matt Fitzpatrick)
The Bay Golf Club (Ludvig Aberg, Wyndham Clark, Min Woo Lee, Wyndham Clark)
Jupiter Links Golf Club (Max Homa, Tom Kim, Kevin Kisner, Tiger Woods)

Where will TGL Golf be held?
The SoFi Centre in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida will hold the series. It can hold approximately 1,500 people on match nights.
The course used by TGL will be a 97 by 50-yard area which is roughly the size of a football field.
Players will play from grass tee boxes, fairways, rough, and sand into a 64 by 46-foot screen for their tee shots and approaches. The screen is roughly 20 times the size of a standard simulator.
For shots within 50 yards, the players will transition from Screenplay to Greenplay to a custom-built complex referred to as the “Green Zone”.
This is bigger than four basketball courts and will feature the largest-ever adaptable putting surface built.
The 3,800 square-foot tech-infused green includes three 15 by 27-foot virtual greens each with 189 actuators and jacks that change the slope of the green creating a variety of play on every TGL hole.
How much perform TGL Golf tickets cost?
Single-match tickets will start at $160.
How will TGL Golf work?
There will be six teams of four PGA Tour players. There will be 15 regular season matches which will be followed by semi-finals and finals.
Each TGL match will feature three players competing for each team in a modern match-play format.
The format can be read into three key parts:
Modern Match Play:
Each hole has a value of 1 point and the team with the fewest shots on a hole wins the point. Ties are worth 0 points and there are no carryovers.
Within a match, there will be two sessions played in two different formats:
Session 1 – 9 holes of “Triples” – Three vs. three, team alternate-shot format.
Session 2 – 6 holes of “Singles” – One-on-one, head-to-head competition, with each player playing two holes during the session.
Overtime – If tied at the end of regulation, similar to a soccer penalty shootout, players compete head-to-head until a team successfully hits two shots closer to the pin than their competitors.
Regular Season Point System:
Similar to professional hockey, TGL will use a points-based system for regular season matches.
For each match, teams can be awarded up to 2 points towards their regular-season total based on the following:
Win in Regulation – 2 points
Win in Overtime – 2 points
Loss in Overtime – 1 point
Loss in Regulation – 1 point
Post Season:
The top four teams will advance to the playoffs which will include single-elimination semifinals and a “best-of-three” Championship Series.
More competitive elements have been added to the TGL Golf format, including a shot clock, timeouts and a referee – all of which are summarised below.
Shot clock:
The shot clock will display a countdown of 40 seconds in which each player must hit their shot, or their team will receive a shot clock violation and incur a one-stroke penalty.
The 40-second timeframe is actually based on a former USGA Local Rule and a current USGA Recommendation on pace of play.
Hammer
At the start of TGL, there was one hammer that only one team could hold. If one team had the hammer, they could throw it at any point during a hole, and if the team threw the hammer, the other team could choose to accept it or decline it.
If they accepted it, the hole was worth two points instead of one. If it was declined, they lost the hole and lost a point. The team that used the hammer lost it, so the other team got it the next time, regardless of whether it was accepted.
For the matches starting the week of February 17, new hammer rules gave each team three hammers. Thy can throw them at any point but only one per hole. Therefore, the leading team can’t prevent the other team from getting the hammer when they need it desperately.
Timeouts
Each team will have a total of four timeouts per match with two timeouts per each of the two sessions.
Timeouts not used during the first session will not carry over to the second session. For the team that is actually playing their shot, timeouts may be called at any point until the shot clock expires.
The opposing team may call a timeout until the other team’s player has addressed the ball.
A member of the team will signal or verbally call a timeout to the referee, who will acknowledge the call.
A team cannot call back-to-back timeouts while on the current shot. They must wait until the shot is hit following a timeout before calling a second timeout
Referee
A referee with experience with timeouts, shot clocks, and the dynamics of team sports will be on the course to administer TGL’s rules and unique situations.
Additionally, a booth official, who is an expert in the rules of golf, will be monitoring the action.
TGL’s rules will be rooted in the traditional rules of golf played on the PGA Tour, as well as inherent local rules needed for the game’s unique competition format, technology, and venue.
