The Koger Sunday bag has been my gamer since I first reviewed it over two years ago. New options include a double (backpack) strap and a second divider. Remains the best Sunday bag I’ve ever used.

Introduction
You are reading a first of its kind: a Plugged In Golf follow up review. In May of 2023, I wrote my initial review of the Koger golf bag. Since then, I’ve used it for almost every round that I’ve played. In the ensuing two years, they’ve made a couple significant modifications, so I wanted to circle back, talk about those upgrades, and discuss how the bag has aged with me. Let’s dive in.
I’m going to try to avoid repeating too much of the original review, so if you want the basic info, click HERE.

Looks
Something that Koger has not changed is the minimalist look of their bag. It’s still available in three basic colors – white, dark grey, and beige – with almost no branding. Koger does offer embroidery on the pocket, but even with a logo, this bag is ultra clean.
Speaking of clean, this bag has been through a lot with me, and it still looks new. The material is easy to clean with a little water and towel. It shows no signs of wear.
Finally, I noted in my original review that this simple bag drew a lot of comments from other golfers. That has remained true. Virtually every time I go to a course, someone asks about. Even as Vessel and its many imitators usher in an era of classier looking golf bags, the Koger Sunday bag stands out.

Features
Koger has introduced two new options over the last couple years. First is the backpack strap. While the dual straps seem excessive on a Sunday bag, the company’s founder, Johannes, reports that a sizable percentage of Koger buyers opt for this [listen to our full conversation HERE]. I tested both and prefer the traditional single strap, though the backpack straps are well engineered. You can order your bag with both if you want to have options.
Additionally, golfers can now get two dividers on the Koger Sunday bag. Despite its slim profile, you can fit 14 clubs in this bag. If you’re going to do that, having two dividers may be preferable for keeping things organized. Minimalists and half-setters like myself can still get the bag with one divider.

As a quick refresh, the only other “features” of the Koger Sunday bag are two pockets – one on each side – and a pair of loops near the top of the shoulder strap. The pockets are different sizes: one is roughly half the length of the bag, the other about two thirds. They’re big enough to carry everything you need, not so big that you’ll be toting unnecessary junk.

Performance
In addition to adding new options, the Koger Sunday bag now features an upgraded strap. While I stand by what I said in the original review – this is the best shoulder strap I’ve used on a Sunday bag – Koger found that the suede material on the underside showed signs of wear over time. To combat this, they swapped the suede for Hypalon, a material used in sailing. This was chosen for its durability, and while I don’t have too many rounds on it yet, I can say that it feels like a material that will last forever.
So why has the Koger Sunday bag surpassed every other bag I own? Because the honeymoon phase hasn’t ended. With most golf products – clubs, bags, shoes – it’s easy to fall in love. You notice the good things, and they get all your attention. With this bag, that’s the weight, the perfect balance, the outstanding strap, and the durable material that lets me use it without any concern.

But with most products, as time goes on, you start to notice some flaws. Maybe they’re not even flaws, they’re just things that don’t align with you. If those misalignments aren’t too serious, the product sticks around for a while. If it’s moderate, you start considering your options. If it’s severe, you immediately hop on the internet and find something new.
With the Koger Sunday bag, I’ve yet to find anything I don’t like. Every time I use it, it puts a smile on my face. It does exactly what it’s supposed to. It carries everything I need. It’s simply the perfect golf bag for me.

Conclusion
I’ve been running PluggedInGolf.com for almost twelve years. In that time, I’ve learned that there’s really no such thing as a piece of gear that can’t be replaced, but the Koger Sunday bag is as close as it gets. Someone may create a better Sunday bag eventually, but they haven’t yet. If you’re looking to carry a lighter load, I give this bag my fullest endorsement.
