Minimal Golf Terra SE1 8.5″ Stand Up Bag

A great stand bag option. It’s light, easy to carry and still fits in the majority of your golf gear. Although their isn’t a long designated pocket for a jacket or jumper.
The design follows in its name, minimal, but its refreshing that way. It has a professional nature to it, without being too overpowering.
Having magnetic pockets was a nice change. They were less of an annoyance to operate than zip pockets.
Overall, the bag was great. I loved how lightweight and comfortable it was to carry, so much so that I played 27 holes testing it out, and it didn’t make me feel any more fatigued. The design was right up my street, and the sleek look is exactly what I look for in a golf bag.
For those of us who live in a typically wet place, other colours are available and may be suitable be more suitable to stop a quick wear look. This is a near enough an ideal option for a carry bag, if only it had that apparel pocket it would be perfect, in my opinion.

- Smart design
- Magnetic pockets
- Comfy to carry

Despite the sleek shape and sizing there is a serious amount of storage packed into this bag including some really neat magnetic pockets.

MacGregor Principal 7 Inch Stand Bag

Exceptional in all weather, it’s light as a feather, can handle a full set of clubs, and deals admirably with a shower. If you’re looking to keep things compact, you just can’t go wrong.
What’s the lowdown? The MacGregor Principal is excellent in nearly every way. At around £80, you’re getting nearly all the benefits from a much larger, and much more expensive, stand bag but in a far more convenient chassis.
If reducing the size and weight you’re carrying on the course is your primary purpose, this is the perfect solution. There aren’t many trade-offs, and you can still test the limit with a full set-up without compromising the product, or breaking your back at the same time.
This is surely the model that all ultra-lightweight stand bags should follow. This MacGregor golf bag is definitely a winner.
PROS
- Probably the lightest bag I have ever carried
- Dual-strap system is extremely comfortable
- Plenty of space for balls and clothing despite compact size
CONS
- At this price? Nothing at all
RRP: £85 / $109.99
Colours: Red/Navy – Black – Black/Green

Sun Mountain H2NO Lite Golf Stand Bag

This is once again a quality bag produced by Sun Mountain. It provides the golfer with ample room to fit clubs, food, drinks and accessories.
The outstanding feature of the bag the construction and it should last a decent amount of time. This means this bag is more of a mid to long term investment than buying cheap and ending up buying twice!
The bag’s waterproof aspect is nothing new for the Sun Mountain range and, as ever, provides great protection against the elements.
The pocket configuration is different to previous versions and does not really offer any improvement.
However, if you are looking for a durable, quality, waterproof position bag at that point this Sun Mountain 2024 bag is definitely worth a look.

- Premium construction
- Lots of room
- Decent colour choices

Titleist Players 5 StaDry stand bag review

This new bag from the StaDry stable came in a Grey/Graphite/White colour which has rather grown on me. It is smart, understated and allows the Titleist logos to stand out. I did wonder whether the light colours would mark up, but after a dozen or so rounds there’s no sign of that. Titleist talk about enhanced accessibility due to the 5-way divider at the top cuff. I may’t really see that this is any great advantage over a 4-way divider but there was certainly plenty of space for all fourteen clubs.
So, to summarise, the Players 5 StaDry absolutely lived up to expectations. Yes, it’s a bit bulky. The pocket configuration could be better. It’s not cheap. But this is a premium quality, robust bit of kit that looks like replacing the Titleist Players 4 stand bag, and sitting alongside the 150th Open premium pencil carry bag as my updated current gamers (if bags can be called gamers).
Because I almost always carry my bag, even though I’m quite old, I forgot to mention another feature which is an integrated cart strap tunnel. This will ensure that your bag remains securely positioned on the back of a golf cart if, for example, you’re playing one of those courses that requires a cart. But give me the Scottish Highlands anytime with my trusty Players 5 StaDry carry bag.
PROS
- Superb carrying comfort and balance.
- Premium construction.
- Good choice of colours
CONS
- Difficult to access pockets on the move.
RRP: £270
Colours: Grey/Graphite/White, Black/Black/Red, Navy/Royal/Grey, Navy/Red/White.

Sun Mountain Eco-Lite X-Strap Sunday Bag

This Sun Mountain Sunday bag is the ideal option for golfers looking to upgrade their pencil bag. Somehow Sun Mountain have managed to shave off any unnecessary weight to get it down to a minuscule 2lbs which is amazing for players who likes to whip their bag out of the car and round 9 holes in under 90 minutes.
The weight savings do not, however, mean that this bag is uncomfortable; Sun Mountain have included super thick padding in the shoulder straps and on the back pad to make using it an all-round pleasurable experience.
PROS
- Super light – only 2lbs
- Very comfortable straps and back pads
- Plenty of room for a full set
- Adequate pocket space for a bag this size
CONS
- Premium price point may be off-putting to some potential customers.
RRP: £120
Colours: Navy / Black / Black-Red / Green

Titleist Premium Carry Bag

The Titleist Premium Carry Bag really is the gold standard in ‘Sunday’ offerings.
Ludicrously light, and maintaining the extremely comfortable double shoulder strap system, the integrated mini-legs have taken this product to a new level.
Five pockets and the sort of three-way top cuff you’d expect to see on a much larger stand bag mean space for your clubs and essentials is never an issue.
It’s quite amazing how much Titleist have managed to pack into something so compact. If you like to carry, this could well become your go-to bag.
PROS
- Ridiculously light – at under 3lbs – but doesn’t skimp on features.
- Mini-manual legs, and so the ability to half stand this bag up, is a game-changer for this product.
- Three-way cuff means you won’t be trying to jam your clubs into a tight space. You can easily get a full set in right here.
- Five pockets, including a full-length apparel pocket, will allow you to pack all your essentials.
CONS
- Premium price may be off-putting to some potential customers.
RRP: £120 / $155
Colours: Red-Graphite / Black-Red / Olympic-Marble-Bonfire

Sun Mountain Two5 Plus carry bag

This latest version of the Two5 Plus arrived in in a Red/Nickel/Black colour. It’s one of four colour options, and looked quite smart but not particularly exciting. At first glance it looked the same as the 2022 model but after a bit of ‘spot the difference’ I managed to find a number of changes, most of which are improvements. There is the same 9 inch (or 23 cm) 4-way top with full length dividers and there is certainly plenty of space for all fourteen clubs. And there is same incredibly impressive light weight of 1.31kg (just under 3 lbs) as the previous year’s model.
Although I’m not convinced by the look of the bag, I have to say that it is beautifully light, well-balanced and comfortable to wear. The two carry straps have a little bit more padding than the previous year’s model. In addition, the hip pad is thicker and slightly larger. The X-Strap system (another Sun Mountain invention) offers easy adjustability and the overall result is an excellent carrying experience.
In summary, I think this is an excellent lightweight carry bag that possesses all the features you need and expect from a premium manufacturer. It’s not the most interesting looking, it’s not waterproof but other than that it just works really well. Considering that I don’t really regard it as an all year round bag, it is a little on the pricey side but in terms of weight, comfort and function it’s hard to beat.
PROS
- Lightweight.
- Very comfortable.
- Good wallet configuration
CONS
- Expensive.
- Colour choices not very exciting.
RRP: £249
Colours: Red/Nickel/Black, Nickel/White/Black, Cobalt/White/Navy, Navy.
