The PGA Tour’s 2026 American Express gets underway Thursday, January 22, with the opening round in La Quinta, Calif. You can find full American Express tee times for Thursday’s first round at the bottom of this post.

Featured tee time for Round 1

While Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy dominated the headlines in 2025, and deservedly so, Ben Griffin had a breakthrough season of his own. The 29-year-old captured his first three PGA Tour wins to go from obscurity to household name.

The stellar year earned him a spot on the U.S. Ryder Cup team, and it got him a nomination for Player of the Year.

Unlike Scheffler and a number of other stars who are making their season debuts this week at the American Express, Griffin is making start No. 2. He played last week’s Sony Open in Hawaii, where he finished T19.

On Thursday, Griffin will get his tournament started on the Nicklaus Tournament Course at PGA West, one of three courses hosting the American Express this week.

Griffin will begin the opening round on Thursday at 1:31 p.m. ET playing alongside his U.S. Ryder Cup teammate Patrick Cantlay.

You can watch Thursday’s first round of the 2026 American Express from 4-7 p.m. ET on Golf Channel. PGA Tour Live on ESPN+ will provide exclusive early streaming coverage from 11:30 a.m.-4 p.m. ET in addition to featured group and hole coverage on Thursday.
